Binance Ethereum Withdrawals Surge to Highest Level in Three Years

Ethereum withdrawal transactions from the cryptocurrency exchange Binance have surpassed a monthly average of 90,000, signaling an acceleration in investors’ medium- to long-term accumulation trend.

Ethereum withdrawals from Binance to external wallets have increased sharply, with investors’ medium- to long-term accumulation trend reaching its highest level in three years. Market observers say the large-scale movement of exchange-held supply into personal wallets is easing immediate selling pressure.

According to recently compiled on-chain data, the monthly average number of Ethereum withdrawal transactions from Binance has recently exceeded 90,000. This is the highest figure since 2023 and represents more than a twofold increase compared with the beginning of this year. A sharp rise in withdrawal transactions from a particular exchange indicates that market participants are moving assets to secure external storage rather than using them for short-term trading.

In general, crypto assets deposited on exchanges are considered liquidity that can be sold at any time. By contrast, the movement of large volumes into personal custody or self-custodied wallets indicates a stronger investor tendency to lock up purchased assets for the long term. The increase in withdrawals this time is also interpreted as resulting from strong demand to acquire Ethereum at current price levels and hold it over the long term.

Alongside the increase in withdrawals, changes are also being detected in Ethereum’s market supply structure. As exchange balances continue to decline and the circulating supply decreases, the possibility is also being discussed that supply-demand imbalances could lead to greater supply shortages and changes in price volatility in the future.
