Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino said the company is investing in Bitcoin and gold while participating in the expansion of the dollar network through USDT and U.S. Treasuries. He also said broader Bitcoin adoption will require generational change and improvements in education and infrastructure.

Blockstream said it had completed a patch for the Liquid bridge node after the entity that withdrew approximately 4,000 BTC made the fix a condition for returning the funds. The entity said it would safely return the funds once all nodes had been patched and the fix confirmed.

Vitalik Buterin rejected Liron Shapira’s claim that Bitcoin had a 50% chance of falling more than 50% within two years because of AI-related security threats. Buterin said network-level attacks could be addressed through upgrades and that a fundamental failure of Bitcoin’s security was extremely unlikely.
A stronger-than-expected U.S. jobs report pushed Bitcoin down to $79,300 as the market turned its attention to August CPI data ahead of the September FOMC meeting.
Bitcoin’s 30-day Realized Cap growth rate has turned positive after 87 days in negative territory, suggesting a possible recovery in capital inflows. Axel Adler Jr. said continued growth in both metrics would be needed for the recovery to persist.
Approximately 4,000 BTC, worth about $320 million, was withdrawn from Liquid Network’s federation wallet, prompting the network to suspend new transactions. Liquid said the party responsible claims to be a “white hat,” while noting that this has not been confirmed.
