Ethereum (ETH) has surpassed $2,630 to reach its highest level since January this year, while whale transactions and holding metrics have also increased, according to on-chain analytics firm Santiment.
According to Santiment, the number of wallets with a nonzero Ethereum balance has reached an all-time high of approximately 207 million. The firm said this indicates that Ethereum’s holder base has expanded broadly despite months of market volatility.
The amount of ETH staked has also surpassed 40 million, emerging as a factor supporting long-term holding. Total value locked (TVL) in decentralized finance (DeFi) on the Ethereum network stands at approximately $50 billion.
Santiment explained that the formation of various markets—including stablecoins, lending, decentralized exchanges (DEXs) and liquid staking—allows ETH holders to use their holdings in multiple ways beyond simply expecting price appreciation.
