U.S. Spot Bitcoin ETFs See $3.54 Billion Net Inflows in August, Largest in 13 Months

U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs attracted $3.54 billion in August, recording their largest monthly net inflow since July last year.

According to Alex Thorn, head of research at Galaxy Digital, despite the strong inflows in August, the ETFs remain in a cumulative net outflow of approximately $1.7 billion for the year to date. The impact of large-scale outflows from ETFs alongside Bitcoin’s price weakness in the first half of the year has not yet been fully reversed.

U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded approximately $35.2 billion in annual net inflows in 2024, their first year after launch, and approximately $21.3 billion in 2025. With fund flows clearly reversing in August, market attention is also focused on whether institutional investor demand for Bitcoin is recovering.
